  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Significance and methods of quantitative examination in neuropathology, and power and limit of observation in humans are reported and discussed. Quantitative examination is a help of the observation, and the fruits of the examination are generalization, numerization and schematization of the neuropathological findings, and analogy of neuronal function. To conform quantitative diagnostic standards in various neurodegenerative diseases and for comparison, a united or common way of brain-tissue processing at autopsy and brain cutting should be adopted. Cooperative use of rare case and normal subjects is necessary(world wide brain banking system).
