Vitamin B12(vB12) deficient is regarded as iatrogenic in some cases. Although the recommended oral intake of vB12 has been determined, administration of vB12 exceeding the recommended dose could have multiple pharmacological effects. "Ultra-high dose" vB12 therapy has been used for peripheral neuropathy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, suggesting its promising neuroprotective effects.
