　恥骨後式根治的前立腺摘除術や膀胱全摘除術後の新膀胱形成術における尿道膀胱吻合を容易にする目的で，新しい尿道縫合用運針器「自治医大式ニードルプッシャー」を開発し臨床応用を試みた。本ニードルプッシャーは，吸収糸付き26mm半円針を同じ円周の細い管内に装着しておき，手元レバーの力を針に伝えて運針する手術器具である。臨床応用を行い改良を加えて完成した本ニードルプッシャーの原理，構造と，実際の手術での使用経験を紹介する。

A new device"Jichi Needle Pusher"was developed tofacilitate placement of the anastomotic urethral suturesfollowing retropubic radical prostatectomy or cystectomy.A half circle needle attached to the suture material is setinside the curved barrel which is connected to the tip ofthe shaft of Jichi Needle Pusher. A thin stainless steelspring linked with pusher rod pushes out that needle fromthe barrel driving the needle through the urethral lumen.
