携帯型超音波断層装置による残尿量測定の臨床的有用性

THE VALUE OF A PORTABLE ULTRASOUND SCANNER FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF RESIDUAL URINE VOLUME

　残尿量測定検査は，排尿障害がある患者に対して治療効果判定や治療方針を決定するうえで大切である。しかし，従来の残尿量測定検査として一般的なカテーテル導尿法では患者の苦痛，尿道損傷，感染の危険性が問題となる。今回筆者らはBladder Manager BVI5000を用いて残尿量測定を行い，その臨床的有用性について検討し，本装置による超音波測定法は非侵襲性で信頼のできる実用的かつ有用な手段であると考えた。

The measurement of residual urine volume plays an important role in the management of urologic patient complaining difficulty of urination. Catheterization has been a standard method for measuring residual urine, however, it may be uncomfortable for patient and may cause urethral trauma, or infection.

We evaluated a portable ultrasound instrument, Bladder Manager BVI 5000, for the estimation of residual urine volume non-invasively.

We consider that BVI 5000 is a possible alternative for estimating residual urine volume.
