　超音波スクリーニングにて発見された，55歳男性の右腎腫瘍を病理組織学的に検索し，色素嫌性腎癌（通常型）と診断した．本腫瘍は，特有な割面の肉眼像と病理所見とにより，通常の腎細胞癌とは明瞭に区別される腎原発の悪性腫瘍であり，著者らの検索し得た範囲では自験例が本邦初であった，自験例の腫瘤は，超音波画像上は辺縁がほぼ整で，内部もほぼ均一な低エコー像を呈していた．またCT画像上でも内部構造は比較的均一に見え，一部に不規則な低吸収域を認めるのみであった．腎腫瘍に対する術前の質的診断にあたっては，色素嫌性腎癌の存在を認識し，特にオンコサイトーマとの鑑別を慎重に行うことの重要性を指摘した．

A case of chromophobe cell renal carcinoma of common type was described. This rare tumor occurred in the right kidney of a 55-year-old Japanese male without any significant clinical symptoms, who received ultrasonic screening examination. The ultrasound revealed a homogeneously hypoechoic mass in the lower pole of the kidney. Gross appearance of the surgically removed tumor was 38 mm in the greatest diameter with the cut surface appearing tan-brown or beige containing small necrosis. Histologically, the tumor cells revealed a uniform solid alveolar pattern of proliferation.
