79歳女性の外陰癌（Stage II）に対し，放射線療法，温熱療法，化学療法の三者併用による集学的治療法を行い著効を得た。この治療法は，従来の治療法に比べ，副作用はほとんどなく，性器としての機能を温存し得るもので，患者の精神的，肉体的負担を軽減するという意味においても，優れた治療法であると思われた。
Recent technique of hyperthemia is expected as a promising modality for the treatment of carcinoma of vulva, penis and certain other malignancies. We report a case of stage II squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva treated with hyperthermia combined with radiation and adjuvant chemotherapy. Radiation with sensitizing chemotherapeutic agents resulting partial response was followed by hyperthermia with sensitizer, which yielded complete remission of the disease.
