53歳女性，主訴は左側腹部痛。左季肋下から臍下におよぶ小児頭大，可動性に乏しい腫瘤を触知した。IVP，エコー，CT，血管造影により，後腹膜脂肪腫と診断，摘出術を行つた。腫瘍は被膜におおわれ，21×10×8cm,1kgと大きなものであつた。組織学的には，純粋な脂肪腫で，悪性像はみられなかつた。後腹膜脂肪腫は，自験例を含めて57例の報告をみるのみであり，それらについて文献的考察を加えた。
A 53 year old female was admitted to our department on October 12, 1984 with the chief complaint of left flank discomfort. Physical examination revealed a firm non tender unmovable mass, about 20 cm in diameter in the left upper quadrant. IVP, Ultrasonography, WB-CT and Aortography revealed retroperitoneal lipoma and horseshoe kidney. Surgical exploration disclosed that retroperitoneal cavity was filled with a lipoma which was histopathologically diagnosed with no malignant cells.
