近年，内視鏡技術，超音波技術の進歩による上部尿路結石症に対する経皮的手術の普及に伴い，より確実で安全な腎瘻の造設が必要となつている。最近われわれは，呼吸器疾患のためopen surgeryが困難であると考えられた，水腎のない単腎結石症患者に対して，経皮的腎切石術を目的として逆行性経皮的腎瘻造設術を試み，合併症もなく目的とする腎杯に腎瘻を造設することができた。1症例の経験であるが，その有用性について若干の知見を得たので報告した。
We performed retrograde percutaneous nephrostomy safely on a patient with the renal stones in a solitary kidney. Open surgery was thought to be dangerous because of his pulmonary disease. Usefulness of this new technique first reported by Lawson and Hunter in 1983, for percutaneous access to the kidney for removal of calculi was stressed.
