女子反復性膀胱炎について—第3報 長期化学療法の効果

RECURRENT ACUTE CYSTITIS IN WOMEN: (3) THE EFFECT OF LONG-TERM LOW-DOSE CO-TRIMOXAZOLE

　われわれは数年来，女子反復性膀胱炎に対して尿中および外陰部菌群の面より検討を加えて来た。その結果，膀胱炎治癒後も外陰部に棲息する病原菌が膀胱炎反復の原因の1つであり，それらの外陰部菌群増殖を外用薬剤使用で抑えることにより，膀胱炎反復をある程度予防できたことについては既に発表した^1）。しかし，その後のfollow-upで，外用薬剤を局所に塗布することは意外にも面倒な操作であり，内服薬を希望する患者の少なくないことが判明した。そこで今度はStameyら^2）により外陰部菌群に有効であると報告されているST合剤の長期内服に変更したところ，やはり外用薬剤使用と同程度の効果が認められたので，その概要につき報告する。

A clinical study was undertaken to investigate the effect of longterm low-dose co-trimoxazole in pre-venting recurrent cystitis. Ninety-two female patients from 22 to 67 yrs. who had more than one episode of cystitis whithin one year were treated and cured completely by appropriate antibiotics, and they were divided in two groups. Sixty-seven patients were further given low-dose cotrimoxazole (1/4--1/8 of usual dosage) and the other 25 cases without further treatment. The frequency of recurrence of cystitis whithin one year after the therapy was compared in these two groups.
