  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Selective venous sampling of the inferior thyroidal veins and juxta-thyroidal veins for parathyroid hormone assay and selective arteriography of the thyreo-cervical trunks by means of subtraction method were performed in patients with suspected primary hyperparathyroidism.

Selective venous sampling method was proved to be valuable for the localization of parathyroid adenoma as samll as 200mg.

However, results of selective thyreo-cervical arteriography were rather discouraging because of difficulty in selective cathetherization into the right thyreo-cervical trunk.
