腫瘤性病変として認められた口蓋扁桃嚢胞の2症例

Two Cases of Palatine Tonsillar Cyst

　はじめに

　口蓋扁桃に生じる腫瘤性病変の大部分は悪性であり，良性の病変が生じることはまれである。口蓋扁桃嚢胞は微小なものは扁桃実質内に比較的高率に存在するが，腫瘤性病変として認められるものは極めてまれであり，過去の報告も少ない。著者らは腫瘤性病変を呈した口蓋扁桃嚢胞の2例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加え報告する。

Case 1: A 53-year-old female was complaining of sore throat for a week which occurred immediately after she was eating barbecued eels. She had a cyst protruding from the inferior pole of right palatine tonsil.

Two months later, right tonsillectomy was per-formed.

Case 2: A 49-year-old male was complaining of a lump in the throat for a month. He had a cyst protruding from the inferior pole of left palatine tonsil. Eight months later, left tonsillectomy was performed.

In both cases, histopathological examination revealed stratified squamous epithelium of the cyst wall and chronic inflammation of the tonsil.
