We developed a new hemiaxial computed tomo-graphy (CT) technique (OM line+40°CT) to exam-ine the paranasal sinuses for the safer intranasal paranasal sinus surgery.

1) Anterior rhinoscopic findings during intranasal surgery and hemiaxial CT findings were corresponded closely.

2) The ethmoidal infundibulum and the frontonasal duct were depicted in the space between the middle nasal concha, ethmoidal bulla and ante-rior ethmoidal cell.

3) The distance between the anterior nares and an anatomical indicator in the nasal cavity could be determined in specific figures.
