喉頭軟骨腫の1例

A case of chondroma arising from larynx

はじめに

　軟骨腫の頸部における発生は1％未満と報告されている^1）。さらに，喉頭原発の軟骨系腫瘍は非常に稀であり，その発生率は0.2〜1.0％である^2）。

　今回，われわれは喉頭蓋前間隙（pre-epiglottic space）に発生した軟骨腫の1症例を経験したので，若干の考察を加えてここに報告する。

　Cartilaginous tumors of the larynx are rare. A case of chondroma arising from the pre-epiglottic space has been reported. A 55-years-old man presented with a painless hard tumor at the upper median neck. The tumor was surgically removed without tracheostomy.

　Histopathological examination revealed a well-demarcated grayish tumor including lobulated chondromatous tissues infiltrated by adipose tissues, whose cells showed no cellular atypia and no nuclear division.

　Complete surgical resection appears to be the best treatment of choice, because of the limited efficacy of chemotherapy or irradiation on the tumor.

　On follow-up with the patient, he is well and alive with no evidence of recurrence or metastasis 34 months after the operation.
