  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Penetrating keratoplaty was performed on 125 patients by same surgeon during the foregoing one year. Surgery was performed as inpatient in 70 cases and as outpatient in 55 cases. Postoperative patient satisfaction was evaluated by Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ-8J). There was no difference in the total of eight scores between the two groups. There was no difference between the two groups regarding sex, age, original diseases. Patient satisfaction was not related to postoperative uncorrected visual acuity, corrected visual acuity or its amount of improvement. It was significantly correlated only with the amount of improvement of uncorrected visual acuity in inpatients. Above findings show that patient satisfaction is not dependent whether surgery is performed as inpatient or outpatient.
