（展示175）　67歳女性の右三叉神経第1枝領域に帯状疱疹が発症し，その5日後に右眼の視力障害が生じた。右眼視神経乳頭に発赤と腫脹があり，中心暗点とマリオット盲斑の拡大があった。血液と髄液中の水痘疱疹ウィルス抗体値が上昇していた。早期にアシクロビル，後にステロイド剤を全身的に投与した。視力は初診時の0.5から1.0に改善し，中心暗点は消失した。帯状疱疹に合併した視神経炎は予後不良とされているが，抗ウイルス剤とステロイドが奏効した例である。

A 67-year-old female developed herpes zoster ophthalmicus in her right forehead. Visual impairment in the right eye set in 5 days later. The optic disc in the affected eye was hyperemic and swollen. Perimetry showed central scotoma and enlarged blind spot. There was elevated antibody titers for varicella zoster virus in the serum and the cerebrospinal fluid. She was immediately treated by systemic acyclovir and, later, by corticosteroid. Her visual acuity improved from the initial value of 0.5 to 1.0. Central scotoma also disappeared. The case illustrates the possible efficiency of antiviral agent and corticosteroid for optic neuritis secondary to varicella zoster ophthalmicus.
