  • Look Inside

We performed indocyanine green (ICG) angiography in 24 eyes of central exudative chorioretinopathy. Typical choroidal neovascularization (CNV) was detected in 75% of the eyes. Atypical CNV was present in 8% of the eyes. No CNV was detected in 17% of the eyes. A dark rim surrounded the CNV in 89% of typical CNV. In the majority of eyes with dark rim throughout the phases of ICG angiography, the CNV started to regress within 6 months. These findings show that the dark rim around the CNV in ICG angiogram is useful in the evaluation of future clinical course in cases of central exudative chorioretinopathy.
