  • Look Inside

Pseudotumor cerebri is characterized by increased intracranial pressure with papilledema and visual field defect, by absence of mass lesion neuroradiologically and by normal cerebrospinal fluid composition. We diagnosed this condition in 2 females, aged 39 and 27 years, with typical manifestations of the disease. The first case was treated by optic sheath fenestration on the left side and the second by systemic administration of antidiuretics. After 4 months, visual acuity and field in the right eye improved in the first case. The second case showed reduction in headache and papilledema after 4 months with unchanged visual field defect.
