We reviewed 751 patients who visited our Low Vision Clinic during the past 5 years. Retinitis pigmentosawas the most frequent cause of low vision and comprised 45.1% in the series. The ages of 751 patients averaged 45.7±18.9 years (mean±sd). In the whole series, 46% were staying at home and 39% were engaged in professional activities.Regarding the number of their visit, 73% of cases sought medical care, including visual advice and social activities, once or twice only. The findings show that an overall care is needed in low vision clinics in accordance of specific needs of patients.
