眼瞼痙攣に対するボツリヌス毒素投与前後のMRIによる検討

Effect of botulinum toxin injection for blepharospasm evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging

（P−1-10）　眼瞼痙攣に対するボツリヌス毒素注射を19例に行った。全例で症状が軽減した。副作用として，閉瞼不全が4例にあった。治療前後の磁気共鳴画像検査（MRI）では，外眼瞼または顔面筋に萎縮や炎症はなかった。以上の結果は，眼輪筋へのボツリヌス毒素注射が形態学的に安全であることを示している。

We treated 19 cases of blepharospasm treated by injection of botulinum toxin. All cases resulted in alleviation of clinical symptoms. Lagophthalmos resulted in 4 cases. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed no atrophy or inflammation in the facial and extraocular muscles following treatment. The findings show the safety regarding morphology of orbicularis muscles of this therapeutic modality.
