Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of uveitis who necessitated replacement of intraocular lens(IOL). Case:A 61-year-old female presented with bilateral uveitis. Her corrected visual acuity was 0.2 rigfht and 1.2 left. She was treated by topical corticosteroid. The left eye received vitrectomy, lens extraction, and IOL insertion due to decreased visual acuity to 0.5 4 months later. Malignant lymphoma was ruled out after examination of vitreous specimen. The IOL had to be replaced 1 years laterafter visual acuity decreased to 0.07 due to deposit of inflammatory material to anterior and posterior IOL surface. Numerous macrophages and multinuclear giant cells were adherent to the IOL. Conclusion:Corticosteroid has to be carefully tapered of in the presence of inflammatory deposit on the IOL in endogenous uveitis.
