We reviewed 13 eyes of 10 patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy which underwent surgery for neovascular glauoma during the past 5 years. The initial surgery comprised vitrectomy with lensectomy. Pars plana filtering procedure or cylophtocoagulation ab externo or trabeculectomy was additionally performed depending on the clinical features. Surgery was repeated one to 6 times, average 3.3 times. Cases were followed up for 9 to 50 months after the last surgery, average 19.1 months. The intraocular pressure was normalized in 11 eyes (95%). The final visual acuity was 0.1 or better in 6 eyes (46%). Two eyes became blind.
