Cross-sectional image of preretinal fibrosis by optical coherence tomography

（18-D-28）　網膜前黄斑線維症19眼の網膜断面を光学的干渉断層計OCTで観察した。中心窩の厚さは，正常値150μmが300〜650μmに肥厚していた。中心窩の陥凹は15眼で消失し，黄斑網膜がドーム状に膨隆していた。偽円孔のある4眼では，中心窩周囲の網膜が肥厚し，中心窩が円筒形の急峻な陥凹を呈した。肥厚した網膜では，浮腫と液体貯留を示す低反射が外層に顕著であった。本症は網膜表面だけの病変ではなく，網膜外層に液体貯留があり，網膜に肥厚がある三次元的な疾患であることが明らかになった。

We examined 19 eyes with preretinal macular fibrosis using an optical coherence tomography. The thickness of the sensory retina averaged 150 μm in normal eyes and was 300 μm to 650 μm in the 19 eyes at the fovea. The macula was swollen in 15 eyes lacking the physiological foveal depression. In 4 eyes with pseudomacular hole, the foveal surface showed sharp columnar depression surrounded by thickened perifoveal retina. Swelling of the retina was more pronounced in the outer retinal layers showing a low reflective zone. The findings show that preretinal macular fibrosis is not a mere retinal surface disorder but may also be associated with fluid accumulation in the outer retina.
