  • Look Inside

We treated 3 eyes with spontaneous intravitreal dislocation of the lens and rhegmatogenousretinal detachment. Marfan syndrome was present in 2 eyes. The 3 eyes were treated by vitrectomy followedby intravitreal injection of liquid perfluorodecaline. This procedure induced floatation of the dislocated lensand reattachment of the retina. The floating lens was then removed through the limbal wound. Retinal tearswere closed by conventional means. All the eyes resulted in retinal reattachment with improved visualacuity. There were no complications throughout.
