A 34-year-old male presented with gradual loss of vision in the left eye of a few years'duration.Funduscopy showed typical features of familial exudative vitreoretinopathy consisting of mild dragging ofretinal vessels and supernumerous ramification of vessels in the periphery. Fluorescein angiography showeddye leakage from capillaries. The left eye showed macular hole with posterior retinal detachment. A thickdetached posterior vitreous was adherent to the edge of macular hole. The retina reattached after vitrectomyand gas tamponade.
