涙腺に発生した良性多形腺腫の1例について,7種類の抗体と8種類のレクチンを作用させ,組織化学的性質について検討した。その結果,抗epithelial membrane antigen抗体とglycine maxは多形腺腫の上皮性成分に,抗glial fibrillary acidic protein抗体とgriffonia simplicifolia 2は間葉性成分に,抗ケラチン抗体と抗ビメンチン抗体およびgriffonia simplicifolia 1 と arachis hypogaeaは両方の成分に結合した。
以上の結果,レクチンは抗体同様,良性多形腺腫の構成成分を染め分け得ることが明らかになった。またgriffOnia simplicifoiia 2は,腫瘍関連抗原であるglial fibrillary acidic protein様物質を認識している可能性がある。
We performed immunohistochemical studies on pleomorphic adenoma of lacrimal gland in a 22-year-old male. We examined the binding sites of 7 antibodies and 8 lectins. The cell type of pleomor-phic adenoma was divided into 3 groups : epithelial cell lining on the luminal surface of the duct, spin-dle-shaped cells of mesenchymal origin, and trans-formed cells of both types. Anti-EMA (epithelial membrane antigen) antibody and SBA (glycinemax) were specifically bound to the epithelial cells. The mesenchymal component was labelled with anti-GFAP (glial fibrillary acidic protein) anti-body and GS-2 (griffonia simplicifolia 2). The transformed cells showed cross reactivity for anti-keratin and antivimentin antibodies and for GS-1 and PNA (arachis hypogaea). The findings suggest the usefulness of lectin cytochemistry to distinguish cell types in pleomorphic adenoma. It is presumed that GS-2 recognizes the tumor-associated antigen.
