　インターフェロン投与を受けた患者74名に眼底検査を行った。45名（61％）にインターフェロンによると思われる網膜出血や軟性白斑の出現がみられた。発症は投与開始2週間から1か月の間に最も多くみられ，3か月以内にほとんど発症した。眼底病変は自然消退傾向があり，網膜動脈分枝閉塞症の1例を除いて中心視力の低下した例はなかった。発症要因の一つとして血球減少率を検討したが，発症群と非発症群の間に統計学的に有意差は認められなかった。また基礎疾患では糖尿病を持つ患者で眼合併症が高率にみられた。

We investigated the retinal complications in 74 patients who underwent systemic interferon as treatment for liver or renal diseases. We detected retinal hemorrhages and/or cotton-wool spots in 45 cases. These complications appeared after 2 to 4 weeks after initiation of interferon therapy. The retinal lesions were transient except in one eye which developed branch retinal vein occlusion. There was no difference in blood cell counts between cases with and without retinal lesions. Cases with diabetes mellitus showed a higher inci-dence of retinal complications due to systemic interferon.
