ディスポーザブル・ソフトコンタクトレンズ装用睡眠による角膜厚と形状の変化

Corneal shape and thickness after overnight wearing of disposable soft contact lens

　連続装用のコンタクトレンズ（CL）と終日装用CLとでは，睡眠という厳しい状況要素の有無に差があり，単なる時間的延長との認識には問題がある。CL非使用の平均22歳の女子10名の右眼にディスポーザブルソフトCLを装用し，角膜厚，曲率半径について睡眠による影響を観察した。対照としてその左眼を用いた。対照眼の睡眠による平均2.9％の肥厚に対して，CL装用眼は9.5％の肥厚で有意の差を示した。角膜曲率半径は対照眼では睡眠により有意に扁平化を示したが，CL装用眼は0.06mmと対照と同じ変動幅であったが，有意差はなかった。SCLの連続装用処方における長期眼合併症が危惧される。

Corneal curvature and thickness were measured in 10 persons after overnght wearing of disposable hydrogel contact lens in the right eye only. The values in the left eye served as control. The cases were all females. The ages ranged from 19 to 27 years, average 22.4 years. The corneal thickness in the left eye increased by 1 to 27μm, average 16μm. This value accounted for 2.9% of corneal thickness the previous day. The corneal thickness in the right eye increased by 23μm to 72μm, average 50μm. This value accounted for 9.5% of the conreal thickness. There were no significant changes in the corneal curvature between both eyes. Above findings suggest the inherent danger of continuous wearing of disposable contact lens.
