　62歳男性の，涙腺部硬化型炎性偽腫瘍の一例を報告した。MRIのT1強調像，T2強調像，プロトン強調像のいずれも，低信号であり，さらにGd-DTPAでまったく増強されなかった点が特徴的であった。従来は，涙腺の硬化型炎性偽腫瘍と，涙腺由来の上皮性腫瘍は，臨床的に鑑別しにくいことがあった。今後は，MRIの導入により，線維化の強い涙腺部炎性偽腫瘍と上皮性腫瘍とは，臨床的に鑑別できるようになるであろう。

A 61-year-old male presented with sclerosing inflammatory pseudotumor in the right orbital region. Clinical findings simulated epithelial tumor of the lacrimal gland. As a distinctive feature by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the tumor showed extremely low signal intensiy in T1-and T2 -weighted and proton density MR images. It failed to be intensified by Gd-DTPA. Scanning techniques with MRI promises to enable differentiation of highly fibrous sclerosing inflammatory pseudoumor from epithelial tumor of the lacrimal gland.
