Abstract Purpose:To report short-term outcome of trabeculotomy with Kahook dual blade®(KDB).

Method:This retrospective study was made on 17 eyes of 17 cases that received trabeculotomy with KDB between December 2016 and April 2017. The series comprised 8 male and 9 female eyes. The mean age of the patients was 69.0±11.6 years. There were 9 cases of open-angle glaucoma, 5 eyes with exfoliation glaucoma, and 3 eyes with steroid glaucoma. Surgery was judged as success when intraocular pressure(IOP)was kept between 5 and 21/18/15 mmHg.

Result:IOP averaged before 29.8±5.9 mmHg before surgery, and 13.8±2.1 mmHg 6 months after surgery. The difference was statistically significant. The mean number of glaucoma medications was significantly reduced from 5.0±1.5 before surgery to 2.8±1.5 six months after surgery. The cumulative rate of success was 100, 82.4, and 35.3% at baseline intraocular pressure of 21/18/15 mmHg or less, respectively six months after surgery. Hyphema developed in 6 eyes and IOP elevation to 30 mmHg or more in 8 eyes,

Conclusion:Trabeculotomy with KDB was effective for glaucoma.
