Abstract Purpose: To report the impact of age and central corneal thickness in eyes with open-angle glaucoma(POAG)on revised intraocular pressure(IOP)values based on central corneal thickness(CCT)and corneal biomechanical properties.

Cases and Method: This study was made on 218 eyes of 218 patients of POAG. The age ranged from 22 to 91 years, average 72 years. IOP by applanation tonometry ranged from 8 to 23 mmHg, average 14.8 mmHg. Refraction averaged −0.51±2.4 diopters. IOP was measured using noncontact tonometer, another noncontact tonometer incorporating corneal biomechanical properties(7CR), and Goldmann applanation tonometer. These values were revised according to CCT and were evaluated regarding age and central corneal thickness.

Results: IOP values using the above 3 methods with or without revision regarding CCT were negatively correlated with age(p=0.001〜0.0045), and were positively correlated with CCT(p=0.000〜0.007).

Conclusion: IOP values in POAG revised by CCT or corneal biomechanical properties were affected by age and CCT and may need further correction.
