Abstract Purpose: To report the outcome of training of anisometropic amblyopia using 3D Visual Function Trainer ORTe®(ORTe).

Cases and Method: The present study was made on 11 children with anisometropic amblyopia. The series comprised 5 boys and 6 girls. The age ranged from 4 to 9 years, average 6.2 years. All had unilateral amblyopia below 0.4 before start of treatment. The affected eye had refraction from +2.5D to +8.0D, average +6.07D. All cases were instructed to wear fully corrected eyeglasses and to attend a monthly session of training using ORTe.

Results: All cases attained visual acuity of 1.0 in the affected eye after training for an average of 1.7±1.3 year. Three cases received correction of refraction with training by ORTe. The other 8 cases received, in addition, occlusion of affected eye during ORTe training.

Conclusion: Visual acuity of 1.0 was obtained in 11 children with anisometropic amblyopia following full correction and monthly training using ORTe.
