Abstract. Purpose:To present a review on complications of fluorescein fundus angiography. Cases:We reviewed 1178 cases who underwent fluorescein fundus angiography at the Tokai University Hospital during 30 months through 2013. Results:Adverse reaction was recorded in 36 cases(3.1%). Nausea was the most frequent and was reported in 28 cases. Adverse reaction appeared within 3 minutes after start of angiography. Systemic complication was present in 22 cases(61.1%). Anaphylactic reaction developed in 7 cases, of which 3 cases had no systemic complications. Conclusion:Anaphylactic shock may develop in persons without previous systemic complications. There is a need for careful monitoring of vital signs during fluorescein angiography.
