Abstract. Purpose:To present a ten-year review of ocular malignancy diagnosed at the Department of Ophthalmology, Matsuyama Red Cross Hospital. Cases and Method:This study was made on 773 cases of ocular malignancy who were diagnosed histopathologically during 128 months through November 2014. These cases were evaluated regarding age, degree of malignancy, method of treatment, and outcome. Results:The series comprised 186 cases(24.1%)of malignant tumor and 587 cases(75.9%)of benign tumor. Malignant tumor became more frequent in persons over 50 years of age. Among malignancy of eyelid, basal cell carcinoma was the most frequent, followed by sebaceous cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Among malignancy of the conjunctiva, malignant lymphoma was the most frequent followed by squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. Malignant lymphoma was the most frequent among orbital malignancy. Among intraocular tumors, malignant melanoma and retinoblastoma were the most frequent in middle-aged persons and infants respectively. Conclusion:Ocular malignancy became more frequent in persons of advanced age, including cases with poor outcome.
