Abstract. Purpose:To report intraocular pressure(IOP)and corneal epithelium damage after switching from prostaglandin(PG)and dorzolamide/timolol fixed combinations(DTFC)to travoprost/timolol fixed combinations(TTFC)and brinzolamide(BRZ), or switching back to PG and DTFC. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 24 eyes of 13 patients with open angle glaucoma who were receiving topical instillation of PG and DTFC. We examined the IOP change and AD score for superficial punctuate keratopathy(SPK)switching from PG and DTFC to TTFC and BRZ, then switching back to PG and DTFC. Results:After switching to TTFC and BRZ, the averaged value of IOP significantly increased from 16.8±2.1 mmHg to 18.5±2.5 mmHg. In switching back cases, after switching to TTFC and BRZ the averaged value of IOP significantly increased from 16.4±1.9 mmHg to 18.5±2.5 mmHg, and significantly decreased to 17.1±1.9 mmHg after switching back. There was not significant in AD score for SPK. Conclusions:Some cases using TTFC and BRZ, β blocker may not last for 24 hours or longer. In these cases, switching to PG and DTFC may be more appropriate.
