エアーガンによる角膜内皮障害の検討

Corneal endothelial damage due to bullet from a toy air gun

　玩具エアーガンの玉BB弾で角膜を直撃された7歳と13歳の症例に対して，角膜内皮細胞を長期観察した。2例とも虹彩毛様体炎，前房出血等を起こし，著明な視力障害を来した。安静などにより視力は改善したが，受傷部の角膜内皮細胞は初期に著明な大小不同と膨化傾向を示し，その傾向は4〜6ヵの期間変化しなかった。将来，角膜混濁などの障害を生じる可能性があり，さらに長期にわたる経過観察が必要と思われた。

Two male children, aged 7 and 13 years, were directly hit by plastic bullets from toy air gun in their cornea. Both cases manifested hyphema, cor-neal opacity and visual loss in the injured eye. When seen by specular microscopy, the endothelial cells in the damaged area showed enlargement in cell size to twice the normal. Pronounced polymegathism of the endothelium persisted for 4 to 6 months after injury.
