The paper describes fluorescein angiographic findings in 3 subjects who developed neovascularization outer to the retinal pigment epithelium and who were followed up for longer periods. All the cases showed common fluorescein angiographic features for the condition. During the arterial phase, the neovascularization outer to the retinal pigment epithelium appeared as a tufty, wheellike or dendritic fluorescent pattern. Towards the later phase, this pattern progressed to leakage or granu-lar staining. Recognition of this pattern would be of clinical value in identifying neovascularization outer to the retinal pigment epithelium in the macular area.
