β-ラクタマーゼ産生インフルエンザ菌による小児眼窩蜂巣炎の1例

A case of orbital cellulitis due to β-lactamaseproducing Haemophilus influenzae

　副鼻腔炎に続発した10歳女子の眼窩蜂巣炎の1例を報告した．本例は穿刺膿の塗抹検査とリムルス・テストでグラム陰性菌感染を疑い，培養にてインフルエンザ菌が検出された．本菌株は血清型別non-typable，生物型I型，かつβ-ラクタマーゼ産生株であった．

A 10-year-old female child developed acute orbital cellulitis associated with frontal sinusitis. After initial treatment with massive dosis of systemic antibiotics which proved futile, Haemophilus influ-enzae was isolated from aspirated material from the orbit. The strain proved to be non-typable as to serotype, biotype 1, and fi-lactamase productive. Sytemic use of Gentamycin was critical in curing the condition.
