　DIDMOAD症候群は尿崩症，糖尿病，視神経萎縮．難聴を有する症候群である。著者らは本症候群の1例を経験したので報告する。

　症例は20歳の男性で，7歳の時，インスリン依存型糖尿病を指摘され，インスリン注射療法を開始した。18歳の時視神経萎縮，20歳の時感音性難聴を指摘された。現在まで尿崩症の発症はないが，diabetes mellitus, optic atrophy, deafnessの存在よりDIDMOAD症候群と診断した。

　本症候群の病因はまだ確定されておらず，視神経萎縮の成因についても不明である。今回，本症例について眼科的検索を行った結果．本症候群の視神経萎縮は上行性のものではなく，下行性のものであることが判明した。

A symptom complex, consisting of diabetes insip-idus, diabetes mellitus, optic atrophy and deafness, is defined as DIDMOAD syndrome. An additional case is reported.

The patient, a 20-year-old male, developed insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus at the age of 7 years and has been under treatment with insulin. Progressive optic atrophy appeared bilaterally at the age of 18. Neurosensory hearing loss was de-tected after visiting us.

There was a family trait of diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus.
