透光体混濁眼の予測視力の精度について

Prediction of postoperative visual acuity in patients with ocular media opacities

　従来もちいられてきた干渉縞視力による，透光体混濁眼の術後視力の予測精度をさらに高める目的で，従来の干渉縞視力測定と，新たにspeckle pattern shift刺激によるVEP，および混濁透光体より発生するspeckle patternのappearance-disappearance刺激によるVEPを測定し，術後視力の予測を試みた。

　その結果，これら三者を併用して求めた予測視力は術後視力との相関が高く，高精度の予測が可能であった。さらに，強度の瀰漫性混濁のために，従来の干渉縞視力測定が不能であった症例のうち，片眼のみの症例では，他眼の視力と他眼および患眼より記録したspeckle pattcrn appearance-disappearance VEPの三者により，術後視力を高精度に予測することができた。

Patients in whom dense and diffuse ocular media opacities defied precise measurement by the inter-ference fringe visual acuity were studied to test if the speckle pattern VEP could improve the precision of the prediction of postoperative visual acuities. The VEPs were recorded at 8 Hz steadystate either by pattern appearance-disappearance with the opaque media as the diffuser or by pattern shift using the ground glass as the diffuser.
