  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Visually evoked potentials (VEPs) were recorded by moving laser speckle pattern and checkerboard pattern reversal stimuli in subjects with ocular or optical anomalies. The results indicated that the speckle pattern VEP method enabled the recording of wave forms at a lesser attenuation than the checkerboard pattern reversal VEP even when the subjects were affected with severe refractive anoma-lies or opaque ocular media. This method promises to be of clinical value in the objective assessment of visual functions in the presence of defective ocular or optical system.
