　単純網膜症を持つタイプII糖尿病患者245例（406眼）に眼底検査（検眼鏡，カラー眼底撮影，螢光造影検査）を研究開始時および24ヵ月後の2回実施し，両時期の螢光造影検査結果をそれぞれ1枚のベタ焼き陽画とし，これを資料として3名の網膜症専門眼科医が，すべての条件（内科的所見，検査日時，螢光造影以外の眼底所見）をblindとして独自に重症度を判定し，所定のアナログスケール上に記入した。一方すべての眼底検査結果を総合して重症度評価した総合判定と上記三者の判定とを比較した。この結果3名間に判定結果に相違があること，総合判定との相違も著しいことが明らかとなり，軽症網膜症の重症度判定は螢光造影検査所見のみで行ってはならないことと軽症網膜症の重症度を判定する基準作成の研究が今後大切なことを結論とした。

Fluorescence angiography was performed on 245 type II diabetic patients with simple retinopathy (406 eyes) twice at an interval of 24 months. Retinal findings obtained from each patient on each occasion of examination were represented as a printed positive picture. From the pictures thus taken, the severity of retinopathy was judged inde-pendently by three specialists in retinopathy on a blind basis (as to the patient's general condition and status of the affected locality as well as the time of examination) and the rating was plotted on an analog scale.
