4年間経過観察しえたプラスチック眼内異物の1例

A case of plastic intraocular foreign body after a 4-year follow-up

　15歳，男性，自作したペンシルロケットの爆発により右眼球内に異物が飛入し，外傷性白内障の術後，硝子体内のプラスチック異物が認められた。異物はかなり大きく，結合織に取り囲まれていたため，あえて摘出すれば，網膜剥離や眼球ろうに陥る危険性があったため，保存的に4年間経過観察した。その間の検眼鏡検査では特に増悪傾向はみられていないが，視野やERGの検査にて網膜にいく分，進行性病変がおこっている事を示唆するデータが得られ，今後もより慎重に経過をみていく必要があるものと思われた。

Department of Ophthalmology, Kumamoto University Medical School. An intravitreal foreign body was detected in the right eye of a 15-year-old boy after traumatic cataract extraction. The large foreign body, later confirmed to be plastic, was located in the anterionasal portion of the vitreous body and was enclosed by connective tissue. As removal of the foreign body appeared difficult and surgery seemed likely to produce serious complica-tions such as retinal detachment or phthisis bulbi, we opted against surgery and for continued follow-up for four years.
