  • Look Inside

We treated 14 eyes (11 cases) with juvenile open angle glaucoma by means of laser trabeculoplasty. The ages of the patients ranged from 18 to 40 years. Argon laser was applied to the pigment band of the trabecular meshwork either on 120, 180 or 360 de-grees of the trabecular circumference. The follow-up period ranged from 9 to 35 months.

Post-coagulation control of intraocular pressure was achieved in 50% of the treated cases. The rate of success was 33% when laser trabeculoplasty was applied over 120° or 180°, while a 100% success (5 eyes) was achieved when laser was applied over 360 degrees of the trabecular circumference.
