過去11年間我々の行った学童視覚巡回精密診断について

The results of the mobile eye clinic for schoolchildren during 11 years

　北海道道南地域において昭和44年より11年間に及ぶ学童の視覚巡回精密診断および指導を行った。

　その間の対象学童は47,822名，抽出検診児童は4,544名であり，次のごとき結果を得た。

　（1）調節麻痺剤点眼による精密検査により遠視，遠視性乱視が多い地域的特徴があることを推定した。

　（2）治療を必要とする種々の眼疾患を発見し，函館盲学校の協力を得て適切な治療と処置を行うことができた。

　（3）検診結果を当該児竜および父兄，担任教諭等に懇切に解説し，視覚に関する自覚を促し，地域の視覚に関する理解度を高める事に成功した。

During the past 11 years (1965-1979), we con-ducted a mobile eye clinic program for school-children in southern Hokkaido district with a po-pulation of about 60,000. A total of 47,822 school-children were screened through the preliminary checkling process and 4,544 cases were elected for detailed ophthalmological investigation.

There was a remarkably high incidence of hyper-opia and hyperopic astigmatism when studied under cycloplegic refractometry. In children under 14 years of age, the overall incidence of hyperopia was about 50%, whereas myopia was present in about 20% in the same age group.
