視覚障害者のリハビリテーション—その2 ベーチェット病

Rehabilitation for the visually handicapped persons :2. Behçet's disease

　ベーチェット病による重症視覚障害者を対象に，リハの現状を紹介し，併せてその問題点を述べた。

　（1）本症による重症視覚障害者は，障害が多様性であり，訓練中にも眼科をはじめ，内科，皮膚科などの医療需要が多い。そのためには更生施設においては，医療管理体制の強化が必要である。

　（2）本症治療，入院中の極度の安静，副腎皮質ホルモンの使用などが，基礎体力の低下や耐久力を招くと考えられる。

　（3）リハ開始の遅れる理由は，発作の頻度，続発性緑内障による眼圧のコントロールの問題，片眼の残存視力が多少ともある場合などが考えられる。

　（4）訓練効果は視力喪失後，3年以内のものに好成績を得た。すなわち，比較的早期に障害の受容と更生意欲を持たせることが大切である。

The present state of rehabilitation activities for the Behçet's disease patient with severely impaired vision is presented and its problems are discussed, based on our experience of 13 Behçet's disease cases who became blind after middle age.

Symptoms of Behçet's disease are so colorfulthat the co-operation among the ophthalmol-ogyist, the physician and the dermatologist is indispensable to solve the problems during rehabilitation training. In this respect the enforce-ment of medical care system in the rehabilitation set-up is an urgent task.
