  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We evaluated changes in the visual field in 30cases of intracranial glioma during the past 7-year-period.

Incongrous homonymous hemianopsia or quandrantopsia was present in gliomas of the cerebral hemisphere including the temporal, parietal and occipital lobes except for the visual center of the cerebral hemisphere. After surgical removal of tumors the visual field became congruous. We assumed that the incongruity of the visual field changes was clue to the infiltrative nature of the tumor and also to the dissociation of corresponding nerve fibers.
