視交叉近傍腫瘍の視野の解析

Analysis of the Visual Fields in Tumors of the Chiasrnal Region

緒言

　視交叉近傍腫瘍は典型的な場合には視交叉症候群を示すが，非典型的な症状を呈するものも報告されている^1〜5）。

　1972年より1975年までの4年間にわたり，神戸大学眼科を受診し，脳神経外科で腫瘍摘出を受けた37症例について，腫瘍の進展方向を5型に分類し，視野との相関関係について解析を行ない，興味ある知見を得たので報告する。

We evaluated 37 cases with tumors in the chiasmal region who were examined and sur-gically treated by us during the past 4-year-period. This series consisted of 17 pituitary adenomas, 9 craniopharyngiomas, 8 meningio-mas and 3 other tumors.

The mode of extension of the tumor was classified into 5 types : 1) anterior suprasellar, 2) straight upward, 3) posterior suprasellar, 4) combined suprasellar and 5) intrasellar. We then analysed the relationship between the type of extension of the tumor and the associ-ated visual field defect.
