A new procedure, IRISREINSUTURE, to prevent vitreous loss during cataract surgery, which has proved useful, is reported. IRISRE-INSUTURE means a suture to supress the ditention of the iris. After corneal incision a nylon string of 10-0 or 9-0 is placed in the limbal sclera at 10 o'clock. Then it is passed through the iris stroma and finally put to the limbal sclera at 2 o'clock. At the extraction of lens, as soon as the equator of the lens passes the pupilrim, the end of the limbal suture at 2 o'clock is pulled slowly and still.
