Cataracta Extraction by Phaco-emulsification and Aspiration

緒　言

　白内障の乳化，吸引手術の新しい方法として1967年にDr．Kelman, C．D．^1）が最初の報告を行い，第22回臨床眼科学会でも12例の患者について報告している。また本邦では1970年に桑原^2）教授が有核白内障の吸引法についてと題して特別講演を行つておられ，1971年著者^3）も少数例ではあるが治験例を報告し続いて倉知^4），秋谷^5），中野^6）等の報告があつた。その後本邦ではこの方面の進展はみられなかつたが米国においては装置の改良と臨床例の検討がなされてきた。今回私たちはCavitron社の　phaco-emulsifier aspiratorを使用し白内障手術をする機会を得，二，三の知見を得たので報告したい。

We performed cataract surgery with the use of phaco-emusiftier aspirator (Cavitron Inc.) in35 eyes of 30 subjects. For 13 eyes, the sub-jects were under 30 years of age.

Complications during and following surgery included vitreous loss, opaque posterior capsule, ruptured posterior capsule, striate keratopathy, maculopathy, uveitis, iris atrophy and filtering bleb. None of the complications seemed to seriously affect the final corrected visual acuity. The duration of application of ultrasonic did not exceed 3 minutes.
