  • Look Inside

Thirty eyes with retinal detachment were submitted to the water-drinking test by Leydecker's method.

54.4% of those revealed the elevation of the intraocular tension, but the others showed slow elevation (12.2%), non-change (18.2%) or lowering (15.2%). The maximum variation in the ocular tension was 4.46mm. Hg and accordingly no positive case was found.

The number of cases giving normal result increased after operation.

Half the eyes with tears at the ora serrata revealed lowering or no-change in ocular tension and it seemed to suggest a ciliary body affection from the focus.
